BRIEF: Police Investigate Theft of Longan Fruit

Police are asking for the public’s help in an investigation of the theft of longan fruit from several farms in Kurtistown.
Twenty longan plants and more than 1,200 pounds of fruit were taken between Feb. 21 and March 8. Police said these types of agricultural thefts are considered a felony offense.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Officers Scott Amaral or Sandor Finkley at 965-2716, or the police non-emergency line at 935-3311.
