“As a Jew, as an American, as a human, words cannot express my disgust and disappointment. This is not my President,” U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz tweeted at  1:42  p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017.

His Twitter account post was in reaction to a press conference in which President Donal Trump once again blamed “both sides” for the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.

In his tweet, Sen. Schatz borrowed the “not my president phrase” popularized by the grassroots political resistance movements that have sprung up since Trump’s election.

During a press conference in New York on today, President Trump said, “You had a group on one side who was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent, and nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now.”
