High Wind Warning: Summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa through 6 a.m. Wednesday for gusts up to 75 mph.
High Surf Advisory: West side of Big Island through 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Wind Advisory: Southwest “Kona” winds will increase reaching 25 to 35 mph in some spots with gusts up to 50 mph. The strongest gusts are expected in downsloping areas. Winds this strong can result in power interruptions, roof damage, branches falling from trees and can make driving difficult. Secure any loose outdoor objects.

Looking Ahead
Gusty southwesterly winds are forecast to continue through Monday as a cold front approaches. The front is forecast to move down the island chain through Tuesday bringing heavy showers and possible thunderstorms. Drier conditions are expected to fill in Tuesday night through Thursday night, but another cold front is forecast for late in the week.
