Wind Advisory: Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa summit through 6 p.m. Friday for 30 to 50 mph winds, gusting to 65 mph.
High Surf Warning: East shores of Big Island through 6 a.m. Friday.
High Surf Advisory: North shore of Big Island through 6 a.m. Friday. East shores could be under the advisory if the warning expires as expected at 6 a.m.
Marine Weather Statement: A large north-northeast swell will continue to impact Hilo harbor with moderate harbor surges and large breaking waves at the harbor entrance. Mariners should use extreme caution when entering or leaving port and when mooring or launching vessels.

Looking Ahead
Light and variable wind conditions will continue today but a cold front will begin to approach over the weekend and winds will increase out of the south and southwest. The front is forecast to bring widespread showers as it moves through the islands Sunday night through Monday night. Along and ahead of the front breezy conditions are expected. Drier conditions are expected to fill back in Tuesday through late next week.

We have variable winds today up to 15 mph. High temperatures are forecast from 77° to 82°. Clear skies to start with building cloud cover in the afternoon and possibly isolated showers in interior areas. Hazy skies, especially in leeward areas.
