Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a theft from a retail establishment in the 100 block of East Puainako Street in Hilo.

The suspect’s image was captured on video surveillance.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, an unidentified woman left a salon without paying for services.

The suspect is believed to be in her early 20’s, approximately 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4, 150 to 160 pounds with a large build. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt, brown shorts and slippers.

Police ask anyone with information about her identity or any other information about this case to call Officer Sean Phelan at 961-2284 or the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island wide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID.
