Looking Ahead
A trade wind weather pattern will prevail across the aloha state into next week with clouds and showers favoring windward and mauka spots. Expect wind speeds to increase slightly Friday and through the weekend, becoming locally breezy through the windier channels.
Today
We expect sunny skies in the morning with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers in the afternoon for the Kona side. Hazy skies are expected. Light and variable winds are expected up to 15 mph. For the Kona side gusts could get up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies are expected for the Hilo side with showers likely. Winds are out of the northeast from 10 to 15 mph and gusting up to 30 or even 40 mph by the afternoon. High temperatures from 80° to 85°.

Northeast winds tonight from 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Mostly cloudy skies are forecast with scattered windward showers. For the Kona side, clouds will clear as the night goes on. Low temperatures from 69° to 74°.
