Public Yeast Bread Baking Course Offered at Hawai’i CC-Pālamanui
Hawai’i Community College-Pālamanui will host an “Introduction to Yeast Breads” course.
The June workshop will teach participants to make yeast bread from scratch using homemade sourdough starter.
As part of the learning, participants will use the kitchens at Hawai’i CC–Pālamanui to make baguettes, pizzas, brioche, bagels, and other yeast-based products.
Baking Chef Instructor Mark Johnson will teach the course. He was trained at Le Cordon Bleu and is now an instructor at the Hawai’i CC–Pālamanui Culinary Arts program.
The course will run for three weeks and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 7 through June 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It is being offered through Hawai’i CC’s Office of Continuing Education and Training.
In total the course will encompass 24 hours of professional baking instruction. Tuition is $225.
