A woman who died Monday after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 130 in the Puna District has been identified as 19-year-old Skye Kahealeilani Noah of Pahoa.

Noah was walking in the Pahoa direction on the mauka shoulder of the road when she was struck by a white 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling in the same direction.

On Monday, the Hawai’i Police Department reported that a 22-year-old Hilo man walked into the Hilo Police Station at 1 a.m. on Monday and said he may have been involved in an accident. After making checks in the area, officers found Noah’s body about a tenth of a mile south of Kaloli Drive.

An autopsy was conducted on the body Tuesday afternoon, determining that she died as result of internal injuries.

Noah’s death was ruled accidental.
