The Department of Water Supply plans to turn off water temporarily in the Manono Street area between Lanikaula Street and Leilani Street in Hilo on Thursday, Jan. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
DWS crews will be working on the water main connection within the Manono Street Improvements Project during the shut-off.
Once water resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaning and customers in the area may notice turbid or discolored water.

Air trapped in plumbing may also be noticed, but will be released as water is used.
Customers in the area should take necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities, including disabling electric power to pumps and other devices that are dependent on water pressure or supply.
