Public Libraries to Observe Independence Day

The Hawai’i State Public Library System will observe the 2015 Independence Day holiday with a closure of most public libraries throughout the state.

On the Big Island, the majority of public libraries will close from Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5.

The Hilo Public Library, Kailua-Kona Library, and the Thelma Parker Memorial Public & School Library will remain open on July 3 and close from July 4 through July 6. These libraries will run on a different schedule due to their public service schedules already in place.

Kealakekua Public Library will see a change in its operating schedule by opening on Thursday, July 2 and closing from July 3 through July 5.
