An unidentified person was found dead when personnel from the Hawai’i County Fire Department arrived to a house fire on Lehua Lane in Ocean View on Wednesday.
Crews arrived on the scene of the single story home and found the hallway and bedrooms on the mauka side of the structure to be engulfed in flames. During an initial attack of the fire, officials found one of the occupants dead upon arrival. The second occupant was away at the store at the start of the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
