The historic Kahilu Theatre in Waimea is heralding the return of The Bothers Cazimero in May.

The mellifluous contemporary Hawaiian music duo, performing Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m., is “back by popular demand,” said a theater release.

After performing at Kahilu every season since 1982, this is their first time back on the Kahilu stage following the theater’s intermission season in 2012.

“I applaud the efforts of those who have helped Kahilu Theatre return, open in Waimea,” said Robert Cazimero. “It is a wonderful thing and we truly all reap the benefits from such worthwhile and arduous work … E O Waimea.”

Robert Cazimero pairs his mastery on bass with brother Roland’s twelve-string guitar, and their fluid vocals, showmanship and humor have charmed sold-out shows from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo, said the release.

They have 35 recordings and 3 DVDs, 25 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and a Grammy nomination. In 2006, they were inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.

Tickets to the Kahilu show are $20 to $64 depending on seats, available online here, or call 885-6868.
