Police are seeking the public’s help identifying two individuals allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident last week in Hilo.

Shortly after noon on Friday, a female in a store at the Prince Kuhio Mall on Puainako Street was observed concealing an item and then leaving without paying, police said.

When store employees confronted the woman and a male companion outside and attempted to escort them back into the store, the male threw one of the employees to the ground. He and the female suspect then fled the area in the direction of Maka`ala Street.

The employee sustained injuries to his head and ribs.

Police asked that anyone with information on the identity or location of the persons call the police department at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
