Two Men Injured in Kailua-Kona Stabbing Incident

Police arrested a Kailua-Kona man following a stabbing incident Thursday night near the Coconut Grove Shopping Center that sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers responding to a 10:10 p.m. call found a 43-year-old man with a laceration to his abdomen and back, and a 38-year-old man with a laceration to his abdomen. The victims, residents of Kailua-Kona, were being attended to by fire department paramedics.

Both were transported to Kona Community Hospital where they were treated and released.

Michael Dalton of Kailua-Kona was arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault.

Dalton, 43, was being held today at the Kona police cellblock while detectives continued their investigation.

Police said the incident happened at the intersection of Ali`i Drive and Kahakai Road.
