A free event focusing on keiki will be held Saturday at the Sangha Hall at 424 Kilauea Ave. in Hilo.
The Celebrate Your Family, “Cherish the Child” Family Event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Activities for the family included “make it and take it” crafts, games, vision screening, and refreshments. There will also be an opportunity for families to establish a I.D. kit.
The event is sponsored by the East Hawaii Coalition to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect, which is made up of more than 20 community, civic, government and other groups; along with Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii.
Funding for the event was provided by the state Department of Health.
