UPDATE: Water Service Restored Along Haihai Street

Water service was restored this afternoon along Haihai Street just above the Hilo Municipal Golf Course following repairs to a broken main.

The broken pipe resulted in the loss of water service to residents in the area for much of the day.

County Department of Water Supply spokeswoman Kanani Aton said the break occurred near Kaiao Street.

The broken main affected water service to homes from Kaiao Street to Akea Street, and all side streets in between, she said.

Also, Haihai Street was restricted to a single lane of traffic near Kaiao Street while repairs were ongoing.
