UH-Hilo’s Tokunaga named National Scholar Athlete of the Year; Lillie selected to All-American Third Team

The two student-athletes from central O‘ahu helped the Vulcans to an undefeated regular season on the way to capturing back-to-back Pacific West Conference Championships and securing a hosting bid for the NCAA Division II West Regional.

Tokunaga, Retsky earn All-American status

Tokunaga and Retsky were both named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-America Third Team. Tokunaga also was named a United Soccer Coaches Division II All-America First Team selection.

Four Vulcans named to United Soccer Coaches All-West Region teams

Fifth-year seniors Grace VerHage and Daelenn Tokunaga landed First Team selections, while Jodi Lillie and Teani Arakawa were named to the Second Team.

No. 1 seed UH-Hilo to host first, second rounds of NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer West Regional

With the No. 1 seed in the West Region, the Vulcans could theoretically host five NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship matches.
