Update: Flood advisory extended for large portion of Big Island
National Weather Service radar indicated at 3:46 p.m. slow moving heavy rain showers continuing to move over the upper slopes of the Hilo, South Kohala and Kona districts.
Flash flood warning for parts of West Hawaiʻi canceled
The National Weather Service in Honolulu reports that heavy rain has ended over portions of the Big Island’s west side that triggered the warning earlier today.
Flood advisory issued for portion of Big Island; Waipiʻo Valley Access Road, portion of Highway 270 closed
According to the National Weather Service, radar indicated heavy rain over portions of North Kona, North and South Kohala and Hāmākua at 4:46 p.m. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
