Kea‘au man caught on surveillance breaking into Puna business, taking Dodge Ram without permission
32-year-old Dylan Jessen Gapp of Kea‘au was arrested Saturday in Hawaiian Paradise Park after leading police on a short foot chase and stumbling into a small ditch day after he was seen driving reportedly stolen truck. He is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and several other offenses.
35-year-old faces slew of charges stemming from 4-hour armed standoff in Aloha Estates
After conferring with the Hawai’i County prosecutor’s office Friday, detectives with the Hawai’i Police Department’s Area I Criminal Investigation Section charged 35-year-old Joseph Diego Soares with several offenses including first-degree reckless endangering, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and other firearms offenses.
