Nearly $525K in federal grants coming to support specialty crops and programs in Hawai‘i

The projects that will be funded this year include research on disease-resistant varieties of coffee plants, improving ʻawa and corn production, education and outreach activities for macadamia nuts and horticultural crops, as well as expanding markets for various specialty crops.

State accepting proposals for specialty crop grants

Eligible applicants include nonprofit and for-profit organizations, universities, individuals and , local, state and federal government entities. Applicants must reside in or their business or educational affiliation must be registered in Hawai‘i.

The state is offering those who produce specialty crops a chance to get some financial assistance to do so.
