Volunteers from Ocean Defenders Alliance have collected thousands of feet of fishing lines and pounds of lead from Hawaiʻi’s coastlines, showcasing an ongoing effort to preserve marine environments.

Come to be known as Tire Valley, the Ocean Defenders Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to cleaning and protecting marine ecosystems, led the operation on Sunday, located about 600 yards offshore of Royal Kona Resort.
