The scourge that threatens the health and livelihood of humans and other life on the planet will increase opportunities to see rainbows, according to a study led by researchers at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Anyone searching for a rainbow Saturday, June 25, on the Big Island only had to look as far as downtown Hilo.

Rainbows are some of the most spectacular optical phenomena in the natural world and Hawaiʻi has an abundance of them.
