UPDATE: Flood watch for Big Island extended, marine warnings issued

The rain is mostly over Maui County this morning, with the storm expected to slide southeast toward Hawai‘i Island later today.

UPDATE: Flood advisory previously in effect for leeward portions of Big Island canceled

Radar showed at about 6:30 p.m. that heavy rain over the area diminished; flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.

Flash flood warning for parts of West Hawaiʻi canceled

The National Weather Service in Honolulu reports that heavy rain has ended over portions of the Big Island’s west side that triggered the warning earlier today.
