Standing granted for 3rd petitioner opposed to controversial proposed Punalu‘u development
The owners association of Colony 1 at Sea Mountain, which had its petition for standing derailed earlier this year because of a technicality, now joins two other organizations that were granted standing in May, in contesting a special management area use permit application requested by Black Sand Beach LLC for the proposed Punalu‘u Village adjacent to the popular Ka‘ū black sand beach park that shares its name.
County Council Moves Forward With Waikōloa Development Project
A proposed development near the Waikōloa resort area that would include timeshares, affordable workforce housing and other facilities is moving forward after the Hawaiʻi County Council on Wednesday, April 6, approved the second and final readings of two bills in regard to rezoning requests from the developer.
