Metal, appliance recycling services resume at East Hawaiʻi transfer stations
The services were shuttered Wednesday at transfer stations in Honokaʻa, Laupāhoehoe, Volcano, Pāhala and Waiʻōhinu after the county’s contracted recycling partner Big Island Scrap Metal in Kea‘au suffered a large industrial fire. The scrap metal business is now reopen.
