Big Island students who want to help their schools or communities go green now have a chance to earn funding to back their big ideas.

Students and educators in grades six through 12 at public, private and charter schools statewide can apply for funding to support innovative and grassroots environmental initiatives that will create new and sustainable solutions for their schools and communities.

Schools in Hilo and West Hawai‘i will receive funding from Kupu and Kōkua Hawai‘i Foundation’s inaugural Hawai‘i Youth Sustainability Challenge grant program.
