Hawai’i County Civil Defense reported road closures due to flash flooding near Kawa Flats between 57 and 58 miles markers of the Mamalahoa Highway.
2 A.M. UPDATE: Tropical Storm Watch Cancelled
While the Tropical Storm Watch was cancelled, a flood advisory remains in effect for the Big Island until 4:30 a.m.
11 P.M. UPDATE: Ana Strengthens, Tropical Storm Conditions Unlikely
The intensity of the Hurricane Ana has increased a bit since the last update and the track still brings Ana south of the islands through the forecast period.
BREAKING: Flood Advisory Issued for Big Island
According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain was falling near Kapapala Ranch and Wood Valley at a rate of 2 – 3 inches per hour.
