#higher than predicted water levels
Coastal flood statement gets short extension, now in effect until Monday night
Coastal flood statement was originally issued through Monday afternoon, May 18, by National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu; isolated minor coastal flooding continues to be possible during and near daily high tides.
Peak high tides, higher-than-predicted water levels combine to produce prime conditions for minor coastal flooding
Beaches that are normally dry will likely be flooded and some minor coastal erosion and saltwater inundation should be expected as the flooding is expected from late tonight through early Friday morning.
