Resolution to Reduce County Herbicide Use Introduced by Councilmembers

Friday’s proposal is the latest in a political back and forth pitting concerns over public health against arguments involving cost-effectiveness and fears from farmers that the legislation would set an unfavorable precedent.

County to Ban All Herbicide Use by 2024

The County Council passed Bill 101 Wednesday, which will phase out the use of herbicides in vegetation management in County parks and along roadways, waterways and trails.
