Free virtual event to connect thousands of teachers with University of Hawai‘i science research

Science educators around the world will get a front-row seat to groundbreaking research and innovation from the university and the company PocketLab during a free virtual unconference in July.

$5M to support Hawaiian, Pacific Island students in marine, environmental science

The grant was awarded from the U.S. National Science Foundation to a consortium of Pacific Island institutions of higher education. The grant will buoy students attending University of Hawai‘i Mānoa, Palau Community College, American Samoa Community College, the College of Micronesia – FSM, the College of the Marshall Islands and Northern Marianas College.

Girl Scouts Learn About Ocean, Space and Environmental Science

Girls from throughout the state, mainland and beyond had a chance to learn about Hawaiʻi’s multi-national cultures while engaging in unique science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, activities during an event last month.
