The Hawaiʻi State Archives is sharing photographs taken 84 ago that were found in planes or taken from prisoners of war that show the Dec. 7, 1941, attack from a Japanese perspective.

Dec. 7, 1941, truly was a day of infamy and a day the United States shall never forget: “May we all recommit to fulfilling the future they fought for — one grounded in freedom, democracy, equality and opportunity for all,” said U.S. President Joe Biden in a presidential proclamation.
