Hawai‘i Island customers urged to continue conserving elctricity to avoid rolling blackouts

For the past several weeks, Hawaiian Electric has been asking residential and business customers to conserve electricity due to the unavailability of several large generators.

Ken Polido of Hilo and his family have operated the TNT Fireworks tent in Hilo during the New Year’s season for about the past 11 years. The family expanded last year to include the Fourth of July holiday.
