Aholelei Held Over for Trial; New Bail Set
A judge ruled today that the man accused of running over a 66-year-old bicyclist last week could be tried for manslaughter and negligent homicide.
Man Charged in Bicyclist’s Death Released From Jail
Bail for Siaiku Aholelei had been set at $275,000 for negligent homicide and manslaughter, but a paperwork mixup resulted in his bail being lowered to $25,000.
UPDATE: Man Held on $275,000 Bail in Bicyclist’s Death
Police said the pickup truck that struck the 66-year-old victim was speeding before it went out of control and crossed the highway’s grassy median.
