Aug. 6 marks nearly 80 years since the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima in Japan. A special event next week marks the anniversary with a presentation by a University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Japanese Studies professor and other activities at Honokaʻa People’s Theatre.
