There are several recent examples of Hawai‘i residents, including Native Hawaiians, environmental organizations, homeowners associations and others, clashing with developers and real estate investors. So our most recent poll asked, “What is the most important trait of a responsible developer?”

Of the 900 total votes in our most recent poll, which asked people to weigh in on the best way to extend the life of the Big Island’s only remaining landfill, all of the above was the most popular answer, garnering 274 votes, or 30%.
