Performs installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures, written orders and regulatory requirement as a guide to access determination for a wide range of unique circumstances.
Authenticates identification through use of electronic Personnel Access Control Systems (ePACS), identification cards, badges, biometric automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
Performs Visitor Control Center (VCC) duties; operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s); Screens all employees, visitors, consultants, foreign nationals, etc. daily
Regulates pedestrian and vehicular traffic to prevent accidents and to ease congestion and parking problems.

This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) you must report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty.
This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Must sign DA Form 5019 acknowledging both pre-appointment and periodic random drug testing requirements.
This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and appropriate safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required as directed.
Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability. Standard for medical exams are prescribed in AR 190-56.
Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training, meet all annual in-service training and recertification requirements.
Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid. May act as a first responder in a medical emergency.
Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
Incumbent will be required to initially pass the Record Primary Physical Agility Test (PAT) within the first 30 days of the hiring date, and must pass the PAT annually thereafter.
Incumbent must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Loss of license may result in removal from the position.
Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
