Inspect/sort donations and use assigned standards to determine outcome of merchandise. Assist customers with redemption of recyclables and/or acceptance of donations. Duties include cashiering, replenishment of stock, providing donation receipts, organization of donated goods, loading/unloading the truck, custodial services for the premises and other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSales Activities:
Operate the cash register system in completing sales transactions according to all policies / procedures for cashiering. Record sales, receive payments, and verify credit / check approvals thru established procedures.
Follow all cash handling procedures as established by company guidelines including register ring up, locking register draws, and opening / closing procedures.
Greet, welcome and assist all customers with their shopping needs and inquiries. Inform customers about store promotions, color rotation, etc. Be attentive to customer needs at all times.
Be attentive and alert for potential shoplifters or vandals among the shoppers in the store. Alert store management of any incident or potential situations.
Straighten, stock, organize and pull "color" rotation as instructed, and other related activities associated with replenishment of merchandise.
Perform other duties including custodial services for the premises as assigned.
Production Activities:
Meet / exceed established guidelines for standards of productivity for replenishment of inventory to the sales floor. This specifically includes productivity rate for textiles, wares and miscellaneous merchandise. Store management will provide productivity standards and goals.
Assist with other activities such as movement of merchandise within the facility.
Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing protective clothing and/or equipment when appropriate. Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.
ADC Attendant Activities
Greets donors in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner. Helps donor identify acceptable and unacceptable donation items – able to explain in a professional manner why an item is not acceptable. Assists with the unloading of donations, provides a donor receipt and thanks the donor for supporting Goodwill. Organizes and consolidates donated goods into bags and boxes to facilitate pickups.
Assists in donation tracking and record keeping including maintaining an accurate daily count of donors and donations. Submits data on a timely basis.
Maintains a clean, well-organized ADC including bagging trash in a timely manner for pick up.
Performs duties in a safe and responsible manner. Complies with safety standards/policies and follows operating procedures when utilizing equipment, tools and machinery.
Serves as a company ambassador and is able to explain the Goodwill mission in the community.
