Responsible for performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Assigns duties to cashiers and coordinates break periods.
Trains and supervises cashiers in job duties, policies, and procedures.
Operates the cash register system by completing sales transactions according to all policies / procedures for cashiering. Records sales, receives payments, and verifies credit approvals through established procedures. Ensures sales and cash reporting accuracy and daily bank deposits are completed.
Follows all cash handling procedures as established by company guidelines including register ring up, locking register draws, and opening / closing procedures.
Greets and acknowledges all customers and donors at the main entrance and donation drop-off area.
Professionally addresses customer complaints, handles returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. Assists sales workers in completing difficult sales.
Sells merchandise by ringing up customer purchases, suggestive selling, and providing customer service. Informs customers of current sales and in-store specials. Explains the color rotation at every opportunity. Informs customers that fresh merchandise arrives daily.
Responsible for regular and situational communication with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Assistant Director of Retail Sales.
Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing protective clothing and/or equipment when appropriate. Complies with all safety standards.
Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company, store, and safety policies and procedures.
Clears out all fitting rooms of clothing, hangers, and debris every hour. Returns items to rack.
Be attentive and alert for potential shoplifters or vandals among the shoppers in the store.
Assists with clearing hangers from the hanger management system.
Assists the replenishment team in conducting the weekly textile "color" pull from the rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
