Job Description:The East Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is a leading healthcare provider on the Big Island of Hawaii dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. We are currently undertaking a significant initiative to implement Epic, a top-tier electronic health record (EHR) system, across our network. To support this endeavor, East Hawaii Medical Group is hiring highly skilled EHR Senior Systems Analysts to join our dynamic team.Job Summary: We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented EHR Senior Systems Analysts to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position involves collaborating with clinical, provider, billing, and operational teams to enhance workflows, ensure system integrity, and support the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery. Senior Systems Analysts may serve as project leads and provide support for requests of higher complexity.Location: In-person or hybrid. Candidates pursuing a hybrid work environment must work on-site in Hilo at regular intervals throughout the year (approximately four times per year for visits of approximately one to two weeks each). Airfare and lodging will be paid for by East Hawaii Medical Group, in accordance with our policies.Relocation assistance is available for an incumbent who moves to the Hilo area to accept this position.Key Responsibilities: * Epic Implementation:
Lead the implementation of the Epic applications ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Participate in system design, configuration, and testing to ensure EHR applications meet clinical and operational needs.
Collaborate with Epic representatives, IT staff, clinicians, physicians, and leadership to develop and execute project plans.
Assist with the implementation of associated (non-Epic) EHR applications as assigned.
System Analysis and Support:
Analyze, design, implement, and support Epic systems and applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Epic applications.
Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and upgrades.
Training and Documentation:
Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on the Epic system, ensuring proficiency in its use and adherence to Epic's best practices.
Provide continuous support to end-users on Epic applications.
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, process workflows, and training materials.
Generate and analyze reports to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Project Management:
Lead and participate in project planning, implementation, and post-implementation support.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
May provide leadership for EHR initiatives and support.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other data protection standards.
Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard patient information.
System Optimization:
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to understand workflow requirements.
Identify opportunities for system optimization and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care.
Collaboration and Communication:
Act as a liaison when needed to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees to represent Epic applications in system-related discussions.
Work with providers to develop and revise Epic workflows and ordering processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field strongly preferred.
Epic Application Certification: Resolute Professional Billing
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in EHR implementation and optimization.
Skills:

Working Conditions, Physical Requirements, and Availability
Must be able to work in Hawaii Standard Time (HST); all schedules will be based on HST
Position will be required to travel to East Hawaii Region facilities and will be subject to long hours and irregular schedules.
Applicants must be able to work in a variety of environments, and able to adapt to an array of physical surroundings.
All Remote work positions will require quarterly onsite days.
