A free gathering to bring forward the practice and teaching of the skills of the wild.  This gathering is for anyone who wants to learn the skills to be more connected to the world around them and survive no matter your level of skill. 

All Day. Rain or Shine. Your are welcome to come for the hour, the day or the night. Look for the Heron Banner. A family friendly activity that is welcoming to all. We have reserved one of the pavilions in case of rain.

Draft Schedule of Free Activites 

  • 6:15 Sunrise Prayers 
  • 9:00 Introduction to Survival Skills
  • 10:30 Fire Making Techniques.
  • Noon lunch together or on our own.
  • 1:30 Herb Walk
  • 3:00 Dangerous Awareness Games
  • 5:00 Potluck Dinner 
  • 6:30 Stores to Entertain Your Heart.

Some of us are staying over Thursday and Friday night.  Staying overnight will require camping petmits available on line at Hawaii County Camping Reservation 

Things to bring for the day... Sun hat Clothing that hides from the sun. Maybe an umbrella or raincoat. Water Bottle Food for the dinner potluck  Food for your own lunch or snacks. Blanket or chair to sit on. Knife for Carving Wood.  A stick or bamboo as long as your arm and easy to hold.
