Launching Friday, June 26, Honu's on the Beach will debut Ingredients — A Dinner Series, an immersive oceanfront dining experience led by Executive Chef George Gomes Jr. and the resort's culinary team. The inaugural dinner is inspired by one of Hawai‘i Island's most iconic ingredients — the kiawe tree — showcasing its rich, smoky character through a multi-course tasting menu paired with the resort's private barrel Kuleana Rum.
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy live culinary presentations as each course is prepared and introduced tableside, offering insight into the local ingredients, techniques, and cultural influences behind the menu. Highlights include cold kiawe wood-smoked Hawaiian kanpachi, duck breast "pastrami" with cacao vinaigrette and local beets, and beef tenderloin and lobster charred over kiawe wood charcoal. Set against the backdrop of Kailua Bay at sunset, the intimate experience offers a fresh take on destination dining by connecting guests to the flavors, stories, and traditions of Hawai‘i Island.
