Three galleries and an Artisans HUI are the backbone of this month's First Saturday in Waimea!
The Artisans HUI at Kamuela Hardwoods is ever flourishing - our VIP guests this June 7th, are the Wayfaring Alpacas! Come see and pet them and experience the magic of freshly milled alpaca yarn - soft, luxurious and straight from the source! HUI Artists showing this week are Marcia Ray and her Paniolo paintings, Hannah Simmons' alpaca portraits, ULANA handcrafted rugs, inspired by traditional Hawaiian motifs, Clint Ferrara's wood carvings, hand forged knives, Kamuela Hardwood's fine furniture and a barn filled with Hawaii's exotic hardwoods.
Cut through the Mana Christian breezeway to get to Kahilu Exhibits, where you will find their newest shows - Tomiko Jones, Hatsubon and Elmily Moores Undercurrent. Opening Reception June 7 from 5-7pm!!!!!
Now walk on down to The Firehouse Gallery, Home to the Waimea Arts Council, across the street on the far side of the post office, at the traffic light. Their new show reflects on the elemental basics of nature and life, and the delicate balance between air, earth, water and fire in nature and human life.
To round things out, drive just four minutes away to find the Gallery of Great Things, an extraordinary collection of Hawaiian, Polynesian and Asian Art, locally sourced in a cozy, Hawaiian country-styled set of shops. A delightful array of paintings, carvings, jewelry, bowls and furniture.
