M.D.C. live in Kona!

Iconic punk/hardcore legends M.D.C. play an all ages show at Club Ekahi in Kona on Saturday September 2nd. The Originally from Texas, M.D.C. formed in 1981 and has toured the world consistenly over the past 40 years, performing alongside bands like Black Flag, NOFX, Circle Jerks and many more. The fiercly independent band has been a huge influence on modern punk bands, both through their music and their ethos. 

Also on the bill:

EL SANCHO, who recently released their 3rd album "Heads Up!" on limited-edition colored vinyl. The Waikoloa-based punk band has been performing across the Hawaiian islands since 2019 and has played alongside bands like Agent Orange, DOA, Supersuckers, Teenage Bottlerocket and more.

THE ALCOHAOLES, a new band from Kona that draws influence from Black Flag, Rancid and the Queers. 

TREY WONDER AND THE GRAVEYARD THUNDER, from Captain Cook, features local musician Trey Wonder with his new backing band, The Graveyard Thunder. Trey has been busy releasing lo-fi punk/alternative music on Spotify over the past several years, and this will be the debut live performance of the band. 

SELECTOR KAIHEWALU will spin punk and OI! records between bands. 

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. 

Club Ekahi is located at  74-5596 Pawai Place in Brewery Block. Enter through the Kona Town Storage parking lot and proceed to the back. Club Ekahi is on the 2nd floor of building 2. 

Some parking is available in the lot, additional parking available on the street. A walk-in entrance is on Kuakini Highway, across from Tony Honda. 

This show is all ages, starts at 6:30pm and is BYOB.
