The play “Talking With” explores themes of female identity, personal struggles and the complexities of life through a series of poignant monologues. Delivered by eleven different women. It combines humor and emotional depth, addressing a range of issues, such as loss, courage, resilience, misogyny, control, loneliness, evangelism and the search for meaning in one’s life.
The show features a series of engaging monologues that allow each character to express their unique stories and their individuality. Jane Martin’s writing style creates a rich tapestry of diverse female experiences, blending humor and depth which enhances the audiences connection to the characters. This play has been performed around the world since its premiere in New York in 1982.
Our director Kelly Wadlegger chose the play to highlight the voices and struggles of women and because the topics in these monologues are very revenant in today’s society.
