The 3rd annual Art Event Waimea will be held all day Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18-19, 2023, at the Anna Ranch Heritage Center in Kamuela.
Nine Big Island artists - representing a range of mediums - will be selling their work. Twenty percent of all sales will benefit the ranch, which is on the National and State Registries of Historic Places.
A weekend trip to the sale also can include two farmers' markets in Kamuela on Saturday and another in nearby Honokaʻa on Sunday. Kahilu Theatre will be hosting its 21st Annual Ukulele and Slack Key Guitar Festival at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 18.
The group includes six artists whose works are in the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts collection. The artists are: Roen Hufford, kapa maker; Clayton Amemiya, ceramicist; John Koga, painter and sculptor; Margo Ray, mixed media artist; Lynn Martin Graton, weaver and textile artist; Marcia Ray, block printer; Susi Watson, painter; Frank McClure, wood worker; and Ethan Froney, metalworker.
