Flower power is back in bloom, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. August 12 in Honoka'a, as the second annual Flower Fest celebrates all things inflorescent. At Grace Flowers Hawai'i, florists, floral farmers, flower lovers and friends will enjoy creative events like Ti Leaf Racing, where individual leimakers are given two tries to fashion a wearable 40" ti leaf lei that doesn't twist or fall apart. For the Team Competition, squads of four will select materials from the flower bar and create lei masterpieces, to be judged on Originality, Technique, Design, and Longest Lei. Other events include Flower Talks, Best in Show Red Flower, lei making throughout town, plus amazing shopping and great food, and a  fabulous fashion show at the People's Theatre, showcasing local Honoka'a designers with music by Higgs and Kingside.
