Akaka Falls Lions Club announces their 2023 Wine Tasting, A Sip of Elegance, at the Castle Resorts Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Moku ʻOla Ballroom on Saturday, October 14, 2023, 2pm to 5pm. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Hawaii Island Food Basket as well as the Akaka Falls Lions Club to help these organizations continue to serve the local community.

Guests will enjoy a unique wine tasting experience lead by Master Sommeliers David Yoshida, Patrick Okubo and Andy Myers as they tour a selection of wines that will be paired with delectable tasting plates created by Chef Jason Soriano from WSW Steakhouse.

The afternoon will be filled with action as live and silent auctions will be held throughout the event.

Cost for the Akaka Falls Lions Club’s A Sip of Elegance event is $85. $10 from each ticket purchase will go to the Hawaii Island Food Basket. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the club at akakafallslc@gmail.com or from any Akaka Fall Lions Club member.  Tickets will be sold through September 29, 2023.  Tickets will not be sold at the event.

The Akaka Falls Lions Club provides humanitarian service to Hilo and outlying communities.  The club was chartered in 1963 by the International Association of Lions Clubs.  The Club’s service projects include vision and hearing screening at East Hawaii schools, presenting the Hilo Christmas Light Parade along with the East Hawaii Lion Clubs, providing manpower to the Food Basket and more.  The Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with over 1.4 million members in over 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
