Hawaii Arts, Crafts & Food Festival During Merrie Monarch Week has been an island tradition for the past 30 years. This three-day well attended, highly anticipated Festival commences on April 13, 2023 and continues to April 15, 2023 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) from 9 am - 4 pm at Nani Mau Gardens located at 421 Makalika Street in Hilo.
The Festival celebrates the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawaii's diverse people and environment and showcases the finest artisans, crafters and food vendors throughout the State.
There will be hand woven lauhala hats, unique hand-crafted hats, lei humu papa (feather leis) made with leather and hides, Polynesian inspired bags and totes, handmade haku, unique Tahitian pearl designs, laser cut products, women and men clothing, and pareos from up and coming clothing designers and much more. Join us for authentic Hawaiian foods, Filipino Foods, Poke, Puerto Rican Foods, Local Plate Lunch, Steam Abalone with garlic butter, Round off your sweet tooth with island favorite poi mochi balls, ube with cream centered malasadas, cookies, slice cakes, cupcakes, cotton candy, boba drinks and expresso. Be sure to take home some of the package foods such as macadamia nut products, Hamakua coffee, beef jerky and lots of freeze dried candy, fruits, treats, lilikoi and guava chili pepper water.
There will be prize giveaways, music, entertainment, hula performances, demonstrations and onolicious regional cuisine. Truly an unforgettable cultural fun filled event for the entire family.
