Presented by Smash Daddy’s, the first ever Waikoloa Smash Jam is an all‑ages, free outdoor skate and music event happening Saturday, August 23 from 4–9 PM at Smash Daddy’s (68‑1820 Waikoloa Rd, Waikoloa Plaza, Waikoloa, HI).
A pop‑up mini skate park will transform the parking lot into a shred‑ready zone for free skate time, demos with pro skaters, and skate contests judged by local personalities — including 3‑time X Games gold medalist Chris Senn.
Live music between events from:
El Sancho – Waikoloa’s own DIY punk trio delivers tight, high‑energy anthems that mix sharp political commentary with tongue‑in‑cheek humor. Their sound blends the lyrical wit of Bad Religion with the raw, high-voltage punch of The Ramones, wrapped in the scrappy spirit of DIY punk. They’ll be celebrating the release of their new album Roll Right Over You, out that day on vinyl, CD, and streaming.
The Granite Saints – Honolulu’s rebellion rockers drop protest‑charged punk infused with rockabilly grit and true storytelling. Described as “pure honest punk like The Clash in their prime,” their sound merges the political fire of The Clash with the rugged narrative soul of Johnny Cash. They’ll be performing tracks from their brand-new EP United States of Distress.
Selector Kaihewalu will keep the energy flowing between sets, spinning a curated mix of punk, Oi!, underground vinyl, and more.
Food and full bar available from Smash Daddy’s.
Free. All ages. Bring your board or just come and watch the fun!
This event benefits the Waikoloa Skatepark ʻOhana, a dedicated nonprofit committed to maintaining and expanding the Waikoloa Skatepark for the community’s youth and future generations.
