The Japanese Community Association of Hawaii is proud to bring back this special Children’s Day Festival at the Sangha Hall in Hilo, from 10am to 1pm, with free activities, food and live performances for children and adults of all ages. Meet Doraemon, the Japanese Manga Cat and KTA’s Mountain Apple Man, while enjoying performances by Puna Taiko, Keonepoko Elementary School and Hui Okinawa’s Shishimai Dog. A variety of make-and-take cultural activities will be available for all: sakana tsuri (fish catching), origami, kabuto hats, calligraphy, koinobori (koi streamers), kazeguruma (pinwheels), Japanese children games, hakozukuri (paper boxes), somen nagashi, air brush tattoos, and more!
